worship

When you move into worship, you move into oneness. There ceases to be a distinction between you worshipping the Source and the Source worshipping you.

At some point in this process you may discover an observer: some part of you is observing this process and is therefore to some extent outside of it. For worship to be complete the observer must relinquish its role. But how might this be done?

The part of you that is the observer is very important. It sits and watches all the events of your life and creates a story, or multiple stories, out of them. In many ways it is the glue that holds your personality self together, and to have that self fall apart can feel very frightening. If you let the observer dissolve into a sea of oneness, what remains of you?

If you choose to enter a state of worship, the first thing you may encounter is an unworthiness or a reluctance to receive love. This is natural. When you acknowledge your own divinity and the indissoluble connection of your divinity with the Source of All, something is going to scream. What screams is every part of you that has hidden for shame. Worship brings these parts blinking into the light and expecting punishment.

There is no punishment. You are innocent in the eyes of God, whatever you have done or not done. A jewel is no less a jewel for having picked up some mud on its travels. But for you, to know that you are innocent is a skill. This skill can be acquired through worship.

ship-ocean-squareWorship is a natural state of consciousness. It comes about as you witness the infinite worth of the Source of All and allow that the Source is simultaneously witnessing your own infinite worth. So worship is simply a ship full of worth – a ship of infinite capacity, infinitely full. You may sail the Universe in this ship.

While such a state is natural it has not necessarily been easy to attain. Much can stand in its way. What stands in its way is judgement, any and all judgements. It makes no difference whether the judgement is of yourself or of others or of the world. You are an infinite being and every judgement reduces you, for it declares that something is not accepted by you, whether it is the size of your feet or the state of the world. Judgement creates separation. Where there is separation you cannot act effectively. Anything you wish to change must first be accepted as it is.
