Your Light and a City of Light

Crab Apple BlossomWe are used, maybe, to containing our light within the confines of the personality self we present to the world.  In many ways that’s served us well.  But is is a containment; there are limitations.  W.H. Auden’s short poem expresse one twentieth-century man’s sense of those limitations:

Some thirty inches from my nose
The frontier of my Person goes,
And all the untilled air between
Is private pagus or demesne.
Stranger, unless with bedroom eyes
I beckon you to fraternize,
Beware of rudely crossing it:
I have no gun, but I can spit.

Even if we allow ourselves a more open sense of energy field, Auden, I think, expresses something most of us can recognise.

A city of light allows a far greater spaciousness for our individual energy fields; more room to breathe, you might say.  Like computers linked together in a network to perform functions beyond the capacity of  any individual computer, there’s scope for realisation and knowing to come to that expanded,  shared energy field.  There is a sense of overlap in a wholly positive way.  For we are able to share with one another all that helps us, uplifts us or aligns us with Divine Will.  It offers a stability too; just like the outrigger to a canoe or the multiple hulls of a catamaran, the connection, vivid and moment by moment, with the light of others, brings us balance.

Thoughts and Shaping the Light of Oneness

When we allow a merging of our individual light into the light of oneness, as happens in a city of light, that light can then, far more effectively than when we work alone, be gathered and placed into a specific point in time or space, or given direction and impetus, or shaped and given form. This is another way of describing how a city of light comes to be built and how its community develops.

It’s interesting to consider what kind of thoughts might accompany this process, what they might look like.  For our familiar thought patterns don’t seem very well suited to this process of shaping light.  And there are lots of ways of using our minds. I have a sense, for example, that the Neanderthals didn’t think very much at all, but nevertheless had very beautiful minds, perhaps using their brains as a kind of map in which all of their universe was modelled. Carl Jung wrote of meeting a Hopi elder, who described how odd he found the white Americans because they claimed to think with their heads, whereas for him thinking was done with the heart.  It may be that part of the prevalence of children on the autistic spectrum is due to their difficulty with thought processes we have tended to regard as normal and hardwired into our humanness.

With Sananda and some of the Heaven on Earth groups, we are beginning to explore what he calls ‘shared mind’ and this might be the kind mental space that is appropriate for the thoughts to be used in creating a city of light.  Shared mind is a little like creating a big empty canvas that invites inspiration and a beautiful creativity to arise.

The Key of the Door of a City of Light

Supposing, in your imagination or an inner journey, you came to a city of light, what might be needful to enter the city?  What key would open the door?

It seems that oneness is a key, if not the key, that turns the lock. As we begin to experience oneness the city walls begin to dissolve, for we have moved into resonance or harmony with its residents.  For a city of light itself is the product of the oneness its inhabitants feel with one another. As they built the city their light behaved in increasingly integrated and collaborative ways, and the little bubbles of the personality self or ego, that need their sense of separateness, dissolved.

When this happens the central function of a city of light, of which there are many millions in our Universe, is fulfilled. When the degree of oneness reaches a certain level in the process of creating a city of light, it becomes a location where the Divine Presence may reside.  This, then, I see as one definition of a city of light: a shared state of consciousness in which the Divine may be fully present to overlight that community.

We might link this idea with the idea of a Second Coming.  Within many traditions, but using here the language of the Christian tradition, we may say that as more and more awaken to know their Christ Light, so together they become a Second Coming, and become a shared consciousness which is able to sustain the Divine Presence and be comfortable with its brilliance.

2012 – An Overview

As 2012 approaches it may be helpful to present this overview.

The Sun

© Lorraine Mills

1. All is well.  That is the most important thing for you to know.  All else is secondary.

2. 2012 is a time of healing.  Many of you individually, and human consciousness collectively, grieve for the loss of a Golden Age, a time before, when all was well.  Even if you do not remember the fall from grace that came, you feel it. For many that fall is associated with the fall of Atlantis. Grieving occurs when energy is locked into another time or place. Shock separates that energy from you, but you feel its loss. 2012 marks to return of that energy to you.

3. 2012 marks the completion of one journey and the beginning of another.  Over the course of 26,000 years your planet completes a circular journey known as the precession of the equinoxes. 2012 marks the point on that journey when Earth is at its farthest from the point at which the fall of Atlantis occurred: that is, a half-circle or 13.000 years.

4. When you move away from any object or event you can use its mass to draw into your awareness all that the object or event has to teach you. In this lifetime you have been moving away from the fall of Atlantis to this farthest point. This is why you find so many echoes of the unresolved issues that brought about that fall in your world now.  Collectively you’ve recognised this as the optimum time for their resolution.

5. As you move back towards an object or event you are responding to all that you find attractive about it. As you move beyond 2012 you begin to allow all you loved and found beautiful in the world of Atlantis to become manifest.

6. 2012 also marks an opening of the heart of the Galaxy.  Through the heart of the Galaxy new light is being birthed into your reality.  This new light is already present, but 2012 marks a particularly powerful pulse and the birth of a new form of consciousness within the Galaxy.

7. This gift of new light combined with the return to you of energy which had been locked in grief for what you perceived as past failure brings about what was been called the end of time.  Time itself does not end at all.  You will still continue to live in a world of time.  What changes, and has already begun to change, is your relationship to, or experience of, time.  In your reality time is a product of mass.  You live in quite a dense reality, so time is a bit slow moving, a little bit fixed in the way it behaves.  As you reclaim more of your own light and accept the gifts of light that are offered to you, so you become lighter in spirit.  You feel to yourselves that you are lighter or have less mass, and your relationship with time becomes freer.

8. Now, not 2012, is the point of power.  If you wish to experience this freer relationship with time, simply be present. As so many of your spiritual teachers have said, now is the only time that really matters.  You can safely let 2012 look after itself!

9. 2012 can also be seen as a time of convergence.  As you move past 2012 back towards the idea of Atlantis in that circular journey of precession, so you begin to converge with it and create something wholly new out of the best of what was and all that you have been learning on your journey outwards from it.

10. 2012 can also be seen as a time of emergence.  Long before the fall of Atlantis, there were those who foresaw and prepared.  Some of these elected to live quietly in harmony with God, holding until now a vision of peace and plenty which they themselves made real. These are the creators of what have been called the inner cities of the Earth. 2012 marks a time of emergence for them.

11. The future is not fixed. All that I have written of here is a template that yourselves have created.  It is not fixed and you can change it.  Just as an architect’s drawing is no more than a piece of paper until someone builds the building, so this template is nothing without you choosing to make it manifest in your reality.

12. If you wish to manifest this template for Heaven on Earth, see God in everyone.  In Atlantis, some came to think they were best because they were more powerful, while some thought they were best because they were more spiritual; and their world fell apart. Know God in yourself and know that everyone who comes into your life comes to help you know more of God.

13. There is much to be done and it takes time. 2012 is a marker. It symbolises a turning point. All that it promises is made manifest in wholly natural ways through your own growing in consciousness and your own intention to be more and more fully the love and light that is your essence.  It is you, and none other, who creates Heaven on Earth.

14. Love the change, for you are the change. All of the wonderful changes that are spoken of and dreamed of, happen through you – there is no other way. Be kind to yourself, you deserve it.  Trust yourself, you’ve come a long way and have earned the right.  Be at peace with yourself, and you create peace on Earth.

15. All is well. Holding a positive vision of all being well, for yourself and for all with whom you share this beautiful Earth, is to give a very precious gift to the world.

Thank you, Earth

Your body and the body of the Earth

Your body comes from the Earth.  Your first body, the one you were born with, came from the Earth through your mother and the nutrition she brought you in the womb. It is as if your mother’s body was teaching your spirit how to create a physical body for the earth plane.  Then, since your birth, you have been creating your body through what you eat and drink.

All the cells you were born with have been replaced, some of them many times over. This process is largely automatic, except that you respond to your body’s messages in choosing what you will eat and drink.  Even this choosing you may feel is sometimes distorted by the desires of your personality and the habits you have acquired.

Even so, your connection with the Earth is an intimate one.  You might even consider yourself as an aspect of the Earth’s own consciousness, as a part of the way in which the Earth is itself evolving. For by bringing your spirit to the earth plane and clothing it in a selection of the same atoms that form the Earth’s body, you are participating in the evolution of matter.

Becoming more conscious

A being like the Earth, who chooses to embody as a planet, seeks to grow in part by bringing greater consciousness into the world of matter.  On a smaller scale you too are doing the same thing, choosing to take on a physical body to bring greater consciousness to the world of matter, while growing in consciousness yourself.

One of the ways you may grow in consciousness and assist physical matter to become more conscious too is through appreciation or gratitude.  Being grateful for all that you eat and drink is to offer it your love. That love confers consciousness, for matter itself responds to love and opens to the next level of consciousness that is written into its blueprint.

You and the Earth

Then beyond that direct response of gratitude to the food and drink that nourish you, can be a sense of the love that is expressed by the Earth through the food and drink. You can begin to connect consciously in this way with the Earth’s soul and this connection can have a revitalising effect on the cells of your body.  Each cell has its own consciousness. As you eat and drink more consciously, finding the Earth’s love expressed through all the forms its consciousness has shaped for your nourishment, then you are acting as a channel for that love to be carried directly to the heart of each cell and each cell rejoices.

Playbox: Enjoy your meal

This playbox is for when you are eating a meal or a snack. It doesn’t matter whether you are eating something highly processed or straight from the garden, but initially you may find it easier with something like a piece of raw fruit.

• Take a mouthful or a bite of food.

• Savour it.  Give yourself time to respond to all its flavours and textures.

• Let your heart centre open as you thank the food for the nourishment it brings you.

• Feel the aliveness in the food and let this aliveness help you connect with the Earth’s soul.

• Thank the Earth for giving you your body and for giving you the food and drink to nourish and nurture it.

• Feel or imagine a heart connection with the heart centre of the Earth.

• Then feel the same connection – your heart centre connected with the heart of the Earth – through the cells of the food your are eating.  Feel the cells of your body responding to this love.

• Enjoy your meal!

The Throne of God

What is the Throne of God?

Welcome to the Throne of God CD

Click on the image for details of the Welcome to the Throne of God CD

The Throne of God is a term we are using for a certain state of inner stillness you may come to in your relationship with the Divine.  When you come before the Throne of God you come to a place within yourself where all judgement or need for judgement falls away and ceases to be.

So this is a little different from understandings you may have received that the Throne of God is a place of judgement, and therefore to be feared.  Rather, think of it as a place which you journey towards, and as you make that journey all judgements you have made of yourself dissolve in the strength of love that emanates from the throne. This also means that all those judgements come to your attention as you make the journey, and it is for this reason, we suggest, that the Throne of God has been considered a place of judgement.

Does this mean, then, that you must have forgiven yourself wholly before you may experience this state?  No, for the journey you take is made outside of time as you usually know it.  By identifying with that aspect of you that has already wholly forgiven yourself of all judgements (even if it seems to you that part must exist in some far future!) you are free to come before the Throne.

A note on judgement

Remember that judgements are just a form of separation.  To say ‘I am better than’ is as much a judgement as to say ‘I am worse than’. Of course, you may say truly, for instance, “I play the piano better than my neighbour.”  It is only if that then leads you to think yourself a better being than your neighbour that separation arises.

Where is the Throne of God?

Knowledge of the Throne of God is a gift of grace.  Grace is a good way of describing the change in human consciousness you are beginning to witness.  This change is helped mightily by the powerful and transformative waves of light that are emanating from the Source of All into your reality.  Grace then can be the vehicle that takes you to the Throne of God.

The Throne of God is very close at hand.  One of the finest routes to it lies at the centre of your own head.  The light that is there, a light which is growing in this lifetime, activated by these incoming waves of light, is a doorway through which you may come to the Throne of God.  You can visit the Throne of God many times in a single day.  Even if that visit is momentary, you will receive a gift.  For the gift is the experience itself, out of which, as you return to the business of your day, may come clarity, insight, inner peace, serenity and joy. Use the steps below to assist you to make this journey.

Playbox: Coming to the Throne of God

• Become aware of your third eye and allow it to relax.

• Invite the Light of Grace to flow in through your third eye.  You may find it helps to breathe in through your nose, imagining each inbreath drawing this light in through your third eye.

• Direct this Light of Grace to the light at the centre of your head.  Even if you cannot sense this light, imagine it.

• Let this Light of Grace accumulate, letting go of thoughts as you do so.

• Ask your soul, your guides or your angels (whatever works best for you) to guide to the Throne of God.  Trust them and yourself to make this journey.

• Notice a shift, even if subtle and intangible, as you come to the Throne.

• Open your heart to receive gifts of peace from the Heart of God.  You may like to give thanks.

• When you are ready come back to the outer world and continue with your day.

Resonances and Convergence

Eric Ravilious: RNAS Sick Bay, Dundee. Watercolour 1941

Eric Ravilious: RNAS Sick Bay, Dundee. Watercolour 1941

If we think of cities of light existing here on Earth,  in another time or dimension, how might we find them and learn from them as we create cities of light anew?

I’ve been exploring this question as I prepare for the forthcoming City of Light Summer School. My sense is that over time we will come to converge with existing cities of light, not just here, but elsewhere in the Universe too. This kind of free connection with other communities at the same vibrational level seems to me to be a characteristic of cities of light.

One way in which this process of convergence can be helped is through resonance – the same principle that will, for instance, set a group of wine glasses ringing when one is lightly tapped.

For me the picture here is an example of the beauty and subtlety of resonance at work.  I’ve loved the work of Eric Ravilious from childhood, and this picture has always been a favourite. There is such a graceful feel for space. a delight in line and shape (look at the curves of the chair back and the lip of its seat), then there’s the mystery of the empty bed and, above all, the silvery light.

In journeying into cities of light I encounter some very beautiful spaces.  Sometimes there’s a sense of ‘I’ve always known this place’ or a feeling of coming home for some part of myself. One such space resonates with my sense of this picture, so that now I say, ‘no wonder I always loved it’.

There’s a story with this picture too.  Ravilious was commissioned as a war artist.  The year after this picture his plane was lost off Iceland. It feels to me that there’s premonition here: the empty bed and the sea planes at anchor, the otherness.  But this premonition is not of tragedy, but of a journey to be made, a journey into that silver light.

It’s as if, at another level, another being, who left this life years before I was born, left a trace, an echo, a clue, to a place or state of consciousness within a city of light.  And that clue helped me to find my way there.

You may find in your own life that clues have been left for you too.

Your Eyes are Divine

There is a great gift you have in your power to give everyone.  This gift lies in the way you look at them.  The word look is used here to include all of your senses, both outer and inner. It covers all the ways in which you regard, contemplate and consider another being.

When you look at another you can give them a great gift by seeing  the divine in them.

Sometimes this is so easy, as when you look at a sleeping baby, perhaps.  At other times it may place great demands upon your capacity to release judgement.  But it is always possible, at least a little.

Does this, then, mean that I am asking you to condone behaviour that you find brutal or heartless?  Does it mean that I suggest you ignore behaviour you find insufficient or thoughtless, or perhaps even to deceive yourself about it, to look at the world through relentlessly pink spectacles?

No, what I am suggesting is that you develop your capacity for seeing with the divine essence of your own being; to see as the All That Is sees you. The All That Is is all-seeing and so knows all the love and wisdom that is yours, and all of your foibles and reluctances too.  To see with your divine eyes is to see more of all you look at.

When you do this you resonate with all that is divine within that which you focus upon. It becomes easier for that being to find his or her divinity, and to allow that to come to the fore.

You are living in a time when many old ideas are running out of steam.  They don’t work in the way they once did.  Those who hold such ideas can find themselves feeling lost, confused or threatened.  You can help them to find new ideas that are more aligned with the Divine Plan by seeing the divine in them.

As you practise seeing the divine in others you are also giving yourself a great gift too.  You are becoming your divine self through this simple practice.

Playbox: Opening Your Eyes

  • Consider someone who has been in the news recently, perhaps someone towards whom you have had some critical thoughts.
  • See if you can contemplate this person without having any thoughts about her or him, even if only for a few moments.
  • Imagine him or her as a new-born baby with their whole life ahead.
  • Send good wishes to this person at the start of their life, wishing their potential to be fulfilled in the highest way possible.
  • Now see this person in the present fulfilling that potential (even though what you are imagining may seem very different from what you know of this person).
  • Send love and gratitude to this person for fulfilling that highest potential.

Angel Friends

Angels are drawing closer to your world, and they are ready to help you.  How does this help come?  Often in ways that seem entirely natural to you.  For angels are not really separate from you.  Your light and their light is one.  You have shaped that light in different ways from the angels, but now you are beginning to discover potential in the light of your being that is closer to the ways of the angels.

For instance, when you choose to see the light in all people and to release from yourself all need to judge, but rather to sense the miracle of being which is each person, then you are as the angels.  For angels see infinite potential in all life, and when you begin to sense that you also begin to swim in the same ocean of consciousness.

To be more fully as the angels, sink deep into the stillness of your being for each conscious choice you make and find the choice that fills your heart with joy.

To fly as the angels do is simply to have the lightness of spirit that comes to all beings who know themselves to be wholly and absolutely loved at all times.  Practise this knowing.

To be one with the All That Is as the angels are, practise identifying with all beings just as much as you identify with yourself.  In this way you free yourself from the burden of your separateness.

Playbox: Asking for Angelic Help

What is the help you wish for?  Become clear about this.

Think of yourself as part of a vast ocean of angelic consciousness.

Feel angelic light all around you and permeating your being too.

Gather your intention together like a brilliance within the ocean of angelic light.

Ask that your wish be aligned with the highest good of all.  And make your wish.

Open your crown centre and feel your wish fly to the angels.

Let go of your wish with a wave of gratitude expanding outwards in every direction through the ocean of angelic light.

Let go of attachment to the results. Trust that all is for the best.

New Light for 2010

There are many new qualities of light entering your reality now.  They began some months ago and will continue to build for several years.  Here I am highlighting one quality which will increase towards a plateau next summer.  You might like to imagine this light as you read my words; it will help you connect with it and make full use of its gifts. It is a very soft light, warm and welcoming in feel.  In imagination you might picture it as a light you can enter into, as you might enter a bubble or a sacred space.

It helps you dissolve memories so that you can be more fully in the present.  Your memories can be observed as rigid or semi-rigid patterns of energy in and around you.  Generally the more painful the memory is, the more rigid its form.  These forms then tend to act as templates, a little like pastry cutters, and you find yourself shaping for yourself the same pattern of experience over and over again.  This happens at the individual level and at group level too.  You have seen many examples of nations, for instance, repeating patterns over and over again; patterns that you, as an outsider, can easily seeing are only prolonging the pain.  But when it’s you, or your group, which is holding that pattern of pain, it’s not so easy.  The pattern of denser, rigid energy keeps on drawing your attention and tempting you to act it out again.  It’s a bit like the urge to scratch an insect bite, even though you know that will only make it itch the more.

This incoming quality of light can make the process of dissolving such painful old patterns easier.  As the old patterns dissolve into the light from which they were made, you see more easily the love that lies behind all things.  This new light will be everywhere, but there will also be many places (often, but not exclusively, places in nature) where this quality of light will accumulate. You might find yourself walking into it, recognising it by a sense of uplift or release, but above all by a sense of being born anew into that moment, to be, if only briefly, without a past.

And this can teach you to be more fully present and to make the choices in each moment with the wisdom of that moment, rather than encumbered by unhelpful conditioning carried out of the past.  Inwardly, walking into this light can feel a little like a white-out, where, older, darker patterns of energy simply fade into light, by a process of grace rather than effort.

For releasing of the past is not the only gift this quality of light brings you.  Go deeper into it and you find it configures itself into the presence of divinity.  You can find your heart connection with the Source of All greatly strengthened by this light.  Use it!  It’s your gift.

Playbox:

Welcome the new light into your life.

Let yourself know you don’t need to understand it, just to be willing to play with it.

Take your imagination into the light and play!
